Even though I'm not a photographer, I always make sure that my photo's not only represent the story that I tell but also the quality I aspire as a businessowner. In this course I will teach you how to make your photo's stand out and meet your artistic vision. After all a picture is worth a thousand words.

In an era that is ruled by image, social media and online presence, it can feel quite overwhelming to keep up with that game. Let me tell you that you don't have to be a professional photographer nor have fancy equipment. I started from scratch and worked with what I had. The image you see here, has made it all over the internet. I made it, at least 15 years ago with my first tiny cheap digital camera and a lamp that is used on construction sites. To tell my story in one image I added some jewelry, face art and a khmissa and this became the branding of my business when i started back in the days. Of course my sister is a great model too and I don't underestimate that!
What will I learn?
With some simple ways and some time and effort you too can make your photo's do the story telling work for you. It is challenging, but also very rewarding when you will see the difference and progress you make. I will share with you my experiences, insights and handy tricks. You will learn about light, color theory, working with props, handposing, balanced framing, focus and depth.

You might feel overwhelmed and you might not even know where to begin when it comes to capturing your art. During this course we go through all the different aspects step by step. You will get theorical knowledge but at the same time you will bring it into practise by executing the exercises. You will be guided by my instructions.

I'm your teacher
Salam! My name is Fatima Oulad Thami and I am often asked: why did you choose to do henna? But that is not how I see it. I did not choose to do henna, henna chose me. I am merely the instrument, the window, the bridge, medium, whatever you wish to call it, through which the story of Henna Art may be told. Henna is magical. Once it has touched your heart, it digs itself into your soul and will not let you go. The passion for this ancestral art became my way of life.

In addition to the henna services I offer, I also run a Henna supplies webshop and a Henna academy. I have been asked to teach at the most prominent henna conferences worldwide. National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage
Intangible heritage includes a.o. practices, knowledge and skills that express cultural identity and diversity. I actively propagate and safeguard the practition of Moroccan Henna Art and therefor I ‘m an ambassador of Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2014. Henna Art was added to the National Inventory of Intangible and Cultural Heritage in the Netherlands due to my safeguarding plans. This Inventory charts Intangible Heritage and helps communities and artisans to safeguard their traditions and preserve them for future generations.
The compilation of the National Inventory is one of the obligations the Netherlands undertook to fulfill when the UNESCO Convention for the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage was ratified.
